[BUG] Ctrl-Z needlessly trapped. #16520

Description

@cruftyoldsysadmin

Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When I try to use Ctrl-Z to put Claude in the background, I get this superfluous message, ctrlz gets trapped, and I have to type it a second time for it to kick in. This has zero value to anybody. We all know how ctrl-z works. Please revert this change.

Claude Code has been suspended. Run `fg` to bring Claude Code back.
Note: ctrl + z now suspends Claude Code, ctrl + _ undoes input.
^Z

What Should Happen?

Claude should respect how Unix has worked for over 60 years now. There is no value or reason whatsoever to trap CtrlZ and put an interim, function-less intermediary.
