[BUG] Usage limit erreicht trotz verfügbarer Weekly Quota (85% verbraucht laut claude.ai) #22439

Description

@SoleilPhoenix

Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I am experiencing a critical discrepancy between the usage limits shown on claude.ai and what Claude Code actually allows me to use.
Current Status (as of February 1, 2026):

claude.ai dashboard shows: 85% weekly usage consumed (15% remaining)
5-hour session limit shows: 2% used
Weekly limit reset scheduled for: Wednesday, February 4, 9 PM

The Problem:
Despite having 15% of my weekly quota remaining according to claude.ai, Claude Code is blocking me with the message: You've hit your limit - resets Feb 4, 9pm (Africa/Johannesburg)

Timeline:

I am using Claude Code integrated with Cursor IDE
I have a Claude Pro account connected to both claude.ai and Cursor
This issue started appearing recently (January 2026)
Previously, I could work throughout the week without hitting limits this early

What Should Happen?

f claude.ai shows 15% weekly quota remaining, Claude Code should allow me to continue working until that quota is actually exhausted.
Actual Behavior:
Claude Code blocks all usage despite available quota shown on the dashboard.
Impact:
This makes it impossible to plan my development work or rely on the usage indicators. I'm paying for a Pro subscription but cannot use the service as expected.
Environment

Claude Code Version: 2.0.76 (Claude Code)
Operating System: 15.7.3 (24G419)
IDE: Cursor
Subscription Plan: Claude Pro
Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Please investigate why the dashboard shows available quota but Claude Code blocks usage
Clarify the actual usage limits and ensure dashboard accuracy
If this is a bug, please restore access or provide a timeline for fix

Environment Details:

  • Using Claude Code integrated with Cursor IDE
  • Typical workflow: Code review, refactoring, debugging assistance
  • Average session length: 2-4 hours
  • Number of prompts per session: 10-20 (approximately)

What makes this reproducible:
This is not an isolated incident - checking the GitHub issues and Discord, hundreds of users report the exact same pattern since January 2026. The bug appears to be systematic rather than account-specific.

Steps to Reproduce

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Prerequisites:

    • Active Claude Pro subscription ($20/month)
    • Claude Code installed and connected to Cursor IDE
    • Account authenticated via claude login with Pro credentials
  2. Check current usage status:

    • Go to https://claude.ai/settings/usage
    • Note the current weekly usage percentage (in my case: 85% used, 15% remaining)
    • Note the 5-hour session status (in my case: 2% used)
  3. Attempt to use Claude Code in Cursor:

    • Open Cursor IDE
    • Open any project/codebase
    • Attempt to send a prompt to Claude Code (e.g., "Review this code" or any simple task)
  4. Observe the error:

    • Claude Code immediately blocks with message: "You've hit your limit - resets Feb 4, 9pm (Africa/Johannesburg)"
    • No code execution happens
    • No token consumption should have occurred
  5. Verify discrepancy:

Expected Result:
Claude Code should work normally until the weekly quota (shown on claude.ai) is actually exhausted (i.e., reaches 100%).

Actual Result:
Claude Code blocks all usage despite claude.ai dashboard showing 15% weekly quota remaining.
