  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Bug Description

After updating(via Homebrew) and running Claude Code on macOS, Apple's Gatekeeper blocks the binary with the error:

"claude" Not Opened — Apple could not verify "claude" is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.

The only options presented are "Move to Trash" and "Done".

Workaround

Users can bypass this by going to System Settings -> Privacy & Security and clicking "Allow Anyway" next to the blocked app, but this shouldn't be necessary for an official release.

Environment

  • OS: macOS Tahoe 26.3
  • Installation method: brew
  • Claude Code version: 2.1.59

Thank you!

What Should Happen?

Claude Code should launch without being flagged by Gatekeeper. The binary should be properly code-signed and notarized for macOS.
