Claude Code OAuth loop — Max subscriber cannot authenticate on Windows 11 with multiple Google accounts

What's Wrong?

Claude Code cannot authenticate my Claude Max subscription. After completing the OAuth login flow, the browser always redirects to an upgrade/onboarding page saying "Claude Max or Pro is required to connect to Claude Code" — even though I have an active Max subscription on my personal Gmail account.

What Should Happen?

After logging in with my personal Gmail account (which has an active Claude Max subscription), Claude Code should recognize the subscription and authenticate successfully without redirecting to an upgrade page.

Error Messages/Logs

Browser shows: "Claude Max or Pro is required to connect to Claude Code. Sign up for a Max or Pro subscription to connect your account, or use your API key."

Steps to Reproduce

1. Run "claude login" in PowerShell on Windows 11
2. Select option 1 (Claude account with Pro/Max subscription)
3. Copy the OAuth URL from the terminal
4. Paste the URL into a private/incognito browser window
5. Log in with personal Gmail account that has active Claude Max subscription
6. Browser redirects to onboarding/upgrade page instead of authenticating
7. No way to proceed — loop repeats every time

• This is a work computer with a separate work Google Workspace account also present
• claude.ai works perfectly fine when logged into my personal Gmail in the browser
• I have deleted .claude folder and .claude.json under C:\Users\mosafari multiple times
• No ANTHROPIC_API_KEY environment variable is set
• Tried claude logout and claude login many times — same result every time
• Tried pasting OAuth URL into incognito window with only personal Gmail active — still redirects to upgrade page
• Claude Code is fully up to date (2.1.69)
• The OAuth flow appears to be redirecting to /onboarding instead of /login, likely confused by the presence of multiple Google accounts on this machine

It is unique in that this is related to windows 11 enterprise and academic research usage. It could be solely related to windows 11. It may have nothing to do with multiple accounts on the same pc. This issue needs to be thoroughly investigated first.
