[BUG] Claude Desktop Windows MSIX - screen flickering every ~15 seconds

What's Wrong?

Claude Desktop version: 1.15368.0 (Microsoft Store / MSIX)
OS: Windows 11 Famille 64-bit (build 26200), langue française
CPU: AMD Ryzen AI 7 350
GPU: AMD Radeon 860M (intégrée)
RAM: 32 GB
Machine: ASUS Zenbook 14 UM3406KA
DirectX: 12

The app screen flickers/flashes approximately every 15 seconds during normal use, without any specific trigger.

Steps to reproduce:

• Install Claude Desktop (Microsoft Store or .exe from claude.com/download)
• Launch the app
• Screen flickers repeatedly at ~15 second intervals

Workarounds attempted:

• Reinstalled via .exe from claude.com/download — same issue
• ELECTRON_EXTRA_LAUNCH_ARGS=--disable-gpu set as user env variable — ignored by MSIX packaging
• No hardware acceleration toggle available in app settings

What Should Happen?

The app should render stably without any screen flickering during normal use.

I have the same strange issue. But for me it flickers every second. not just the App, but the entire screen. Not sure if this is an OLED issue? but it only happens with the Claude app. It flickers slightly, not to total white, the entire screen gets 10% brigther or so.

Same issue. The whole screen flickers every so often, It does it less if my second monitor is off.

I was able to fix this issue which seems to affect all modern Electron apps by disabling "V-Sync Fast" for the Claude app in the NVidia control panel. This completely eliminated the flickering in the Claude for Desktop (Windows Electron app.)

The flickering also happened in Google Antigravity, also Electron, and creating the same override profile fixed that too.

I do not know if ATI GPU drivers have similar settings for V-Sync, but might be worth checking if you have the constantly flickering and rendering bugs in Electron apps.

Thank you for this; unfortunately this did not fix it for me (Windows 11, 3070). Its very annoying to the point i am avoiding it largely.

I was not able to get the flicker even with the control panel setting. It appears on my 240HZ OLED but disappears once I move Claude to my second screen which is only 60Hz.

I can give that a try but I also want G-Sync for other applications - I have not bought a 240Hz monitor for a browser and Claude. It seems it is something wrong with Electron apps on Windows rather than my setup?
