When working in a large workspace (e.g., an Obsidian vault with many subfolders), it would be useful to launch the Claude Code panel already scoped to a specific subfolder rather than the workspace root.
Suggested approaches:
- Right-click a folder in the Explorer → "Open Claude Code here"
- A setting or launch parameter to specify the working directory
- Automatically detect the folder of the currently active file
Current workaround: Open the subfolder as a separate VS Code workspace, which loses the broader workspace context.
