This is a confirmed Claude Code bug. The app lost its ability to discover sessions after cache clear, even though the data is intact.

What Should Happen?

All previous sessions should load as normal in the claude code desktop app for Mac. Version 1.1.9310 (cb30ac)

I cleared the cache per help instructions to try and get Claude to Code Sonnet to respond. Nothing worked. then Claude came back online, but all of my previous sessions wouldn't load.

We all experienced a similar problem yesterday. It was partially resolved in 4-5 hours. Right now, even though I'm only working with a chat, I'm getting the "Not responding - Try stopping" error.

1. /resume picker does not discover session files via filesystem scan — sessions invisible despite valid .jsonl on disk (v2.1.81) #38340
2. claude --resume finds no conversations despite .jsonl files existing #31768

Same bug I reported yesterday. Version 1.1.9310 (cb30ac) is completely broken. Dispatch messages never get returned to the desktop or the mobile. Always on Read. Tasks do work in the background but this primary feature of Dispatch is completely broken. Frankly it is pathetic that a primary feature of an App can completely die between versions and this bug made it through. Claude is not what it claims to be. Should have never released this update without proper testing of a primary function.

Latest update Version 1.1.9493 (b58a0b) didn't fix it. All previous sessions exist, but aren't indexed or shown under sessions. So much organizational work was done to make these helpful developmental guides.
