[BUG] Can't Open Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Installed latest claude via brew install claude-code@latest and installed it after I uninstalled the previous version

However, I can't open claude code, it gives me this
"claude" Not Opened Apple could not verify "claude" is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.

What Should Happen?

Simply open without needing to give him restricted permission on the settings

Related variant of the same bug — same version, same root cause, different symptom.

Environment: macOS arm64, standalone installer (not Homebrew), v2.1.89

Symptom: No Gatekeeper dialog appears. Instead, any new claude process dies immediately with exit 137 (SIGKILL) — including claude --version and subprocesses spawned from within an already-running session. The existing session continues to work normally; only new process launches are killed.

Ruled out:

Memory pressure (60% free)
Quarantine attributes (none on binary)
File descriptor limits
Shell environment issues
Confirmed fix: Rolling back to v2.1.87 resolves the issue completely:

Root cause hypothesis: Both symptoms — Gatekeeper dialog and silent SIGKILL — point to a code signing regression in the 2.1.89 build. The binary ships with correct permissions (-rwxr-xr-x), so this is not a chmod issue.
