[BUG] Can't submit a prompt on Claude Code on deskptop app for Windows #47320

Description

@julie-roberge

Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

In the Claude Desktop app, the Code tab input field no longer converts the microphone icon into a send (arrow) button when text is typed. As a result, there is no way to submit a prompt using the keyboard or mouse.

Additionally, pressing Enter shifts focus to the "Select folder" button instead of sending the message.

The Chat tab works correctly — the microphone icon does convert to a send arrow when text is entered.

Actual Behavior
The microphone icon stays as-is. Pressing Enter moves focus to "Select folder". There is no way to send a message in the Code tab.

Environment

  • Platform: Claude Desktop App (Windows)
  • Tab: Code
  • This worked before the recent update
  • OS: Windows 11 version 25H2

What Should Happen?

The microphone icon should convert to a send (arrow) button when text is present, as it does in the Chat tab. Pressing Enter should send the message.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open the Claude Desktop app
  2. Navigate to the Code tab
  3. Click in the prompt input field
  4. Type any text
  5. Observe: the microphone icon does not change to a send arrow
  6. Press Enter — focus jumps to the "Select folder" button instead of sending
