[BUG] Cowork tab missing after update on Windows 11

The Cowork tab should be visible and accessible in the Claude Desktop app navigation after updating to the latest version.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Install or update Claude Desktop app to version 1.2581.0 on Windows 11
2. Launch the application
3. Observe that the Cowork tab is completely absent from the navigation
4. Restart the application — issue persists
5. Fully uninstall, clean residual files from %APPDATA%\Claude and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Claude, reinstall — issue persists

The Cowork tab was working normally before the latest auto-update. After the update, the tab is completely gone from navigation with no error message. Virtual Machine Platform is enabled in Windows features. Full uninstall, manual cleanup of residual files, and reinstall did not resolve the issue.

I had the same issue with a user.
Open Powershell as Administrator and run the following command: Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName VirtualMachinePlatform -All -NoRestart
Restart windows and it should work.

Claude Desktop for Windows requires the Virtual Machine Platform to use Cowork. You can automate installation of this feature via most endpoint management solutions, but you may also run the following command to install it manually:

Same bug as issue #49748 — Cowork tab disappeared from Claude Desktop after a recent update. Max plan, Windows 11 x64, app version 1.3109.0 (35cbf6).

Relevant log evidence from %APPDATA%\Claude\logs\cowork_vm_node.log:

• 2026-04-15 11:14–11:18: full successful VM startup cycle (rootfs/vmlinuz/initrd downloaded, vm_boot OK, Network CONNECTED, SDK v2.1.101 installed, API REACHABLE)
• 2026-04-15 13:20:15: first occurrence of [cleanupVMBundleIfUnsupported] yukonSilver not supported (status=unsupported), bundle deleted
• Every launch since (6 occurrences, 15→18 April): same unsupported status, Cowork tab hidden

Cowork was working on my machine the morning of April 15. The change happened server-side between 11:18 and 13:20 that day — my Windows config and hardware are unchanged. Reinstall and VirtualMachinePlatform checks have no effect (expected, since the cause is server-side).

Could the yukonSilver profile be re-enabled for my configuration? Happy to share full logs if helpful.
