Support pasting images directly into the VS Code extension chat input

The claude.ai web interface allows users to paste images (PNG, JPG, etc.) directly into the chat input. The VS Code extension does not support this — pasted images are rejected.

Request: Allow users to paste images into the VS Code extension chat input, the same way they can in claude.ai. This is essential for sharing screenshots of UI issues, error messages, dashboards, and other visual context without needing to save and attach files manually.

I'm coding in VS Code with Claude Code and there is apparently no way to paste an image there. Maybe there's something I don't understand - happens a lot :-)

I'm using claude code in VS Code, and I am unable to drag an image into it, because I think that's a terminal interface in VS Code.

I am using Claude Code within Visual Studio Code (it looks like a terminal interface but I'm not sure). I am now able to paste a picture (jpg, png, etc) into Claude Code - a very big and hugely pleasant surprise! Thanks for asking :-)

I am now able to paste jpegs (and probably pngs) into it. Seems to work just fine for me.
