Problem Statement

Would love to see official Microsoft Visual Studio (the full IDE,
not VS Code) extension support for Claude Code.

Currently .NET and C++ developers have limited options:

• Developer PowerShell in VS: Shift+Enter doesn't work,
  /terminal-setup fails. Only backslash+Enter works.
• External Windows Terminal: Works, but opens in a separate
  window and breaks the in-IDE workflow.
• Community extension (dliedke/ClaudeCodeExtension):
  Appreciated, but it's a CLI wrapper rather than a native
  integration — no inline diffs, no @-mention with line ranges,
  no plan review, no checkpoint/rewind. Maintained by a single
  developer, so feature parity and long-term support aren't
  guaranteed.

The .NET ecosystem is large and Visual Studio-centric. An official
VSIX with feature parity to the VS Code extension would make
Claude Code a daily driver for many currently underserved developers.
