Did you have a previous npm-based Claude Code installation before this?

Stacktrace shows "Invalid settings", can you check all your settings.json files are well-formed?

I did, yes. CC even suggested I rm -rf the global node modules folder for that ext (I use NVM a lot and it busted CC).
Also, it seems /doctor doesn't find any issues.
