[BUG] When using Claude Code my API credits are being consumed despite having a Pro subscription

What's Wrong?

When I used Claude code I got a message during my session that my credit balance is too low. I am a Pro user and my Claude Code usage should not consume my API credits.

It is unclear from the Code UX that my API credits were to be consumed, why they were being consumed and why my Pro subscription is not being utilized.

What Should Happen?

Claude code should recongize that I am a Pro subcription user and not consume API credits.

Additional Information

There should be a preference to default to Pro subscription usage and confirmations before any API credits are consumed, especially for those of us who do not use the API and only maintain a low balance.

You can switch at any time by re-running /login inside of claude code.

New users won't run into issues, existing API users weren't ever warned that they'd have to re-login to choose.
