Max plan models (Opus 4.8, Fable) not available in Claude Code CLI

On a Max plan, the models Claude Opus 4.8 and Fable are available in both the Claude desktop app and claude.ai (web), but they do not appear in the Claude Code CLI model selector (/model).

Steps to Reproduce

1. Log into Claude Code CLI on a Max plan account
2. Run /model to view available models
3. Opus 4.8 and Fable are missing from the list

Expected Behavior

All models available on the Max plan (including Opus 4.8 and Fable) should appear in Claude Code's model selector, matching what's available on claude.ai and the desktop app.

Both models are available in Claude Code today:

• Fable 5: run /model fable (Claude Code v2.1.170 or later). On Max plans Fable may bill to usage credits, so you'll see a consent prompt the first time — that's expected. Details: https://code.claude.com/docs/en/model-config#work-with-fable-5
• Opus 4.8: run /model claude-opus-4-8 (or /model opus for the newest Opus available to your account) — you can type a model id directly even if it isn't a row in the picker.

If /model fable reports it isn't available for your account after updating, that's an account-side availability question rather than a client limitation. Closing as already available; feel free to reopen with /model fable output if it still fails on the current release.
