Marxdown v0.4.0 — Front matter at a glance, links in new tabs

Marxdown is a fast, reading-first Markdown viewer for Windows. Edit when you need to.

What's new

• Front matter reads as a table. YAML front matter at the top of a document is now shown as a key–value table in the preview. Switch back to highlighted YAML, or hide it, with preview.frontMatter.
• Links open in a new tab. Following a link to another Markdown file in the preview now opens it in a new tab, so the document you came from stays open. If the file is already open, Marxdown switches to its tab.
• Choose where pasted images go. Set editor.pasteImage.directory to a path relative to the document. The default is still <file name>.assets.
• Bold and italic stand out in the editor. **bold** and *italic* now have their own colors instead of matching the surrounding text.
• Inline code is easier to spot. Its background in the preview no longer blends into the page.
• Fixes. Content piped with <command> | marxdown - now opens when Marxdown is already running. If the tray icon cannot be created, closing the window with ✕ now quits instead of leaving no way to bring it back.

Why it matters

Design documents and AI-generated notes often start with front matter and point to other files.
This release makes that metadata readable at a glance and lets you follow links without losing your place.

• Linux で PDF を直接書き出せるようにした（Windows と同じく、保存先を選んで A4 で書き出す）
• プレビューで、Front Matter をキーと値の表で表示するようにした。設定の preview.frontMatter で、ハイライトした YAML のままの表示や非表示にも切り替えられる
• 貼り付けた画像の保存先を設定（editor.pasteImage.directory）で変えられるようにした。文書のあるフォルダーからの相対パスで指定し、既定は従来どおり <ファイル名>.assets

• エディターで、強調（**太字** / *斜体*）に色を付けるようにした。これまでは書体だけが変わり、地の文と同じ色だった

修正

• Marxdown が起動しているときに <コマンド> | marxdown - で渡した内容が開かなかった不具合を修正した
• タスクトレイのアイコンを作れなかったとき、✕ で閉じたウィンドウを戻せなくなっていた不具合を修正した。その場合は ✕ で終了する
• プレビューで、インラインコードの背景が地色とほとんど同じ色になり見分けにくかった不具合を修正した

The builds are unsigned. On macOS, Gatekeeper blocks the first launch; see the README for how to open it. The AppImage needs libfuse2.

Marxdown v0.3.0 — Cleaner tables and task lists in long documents

Marxdown is a fast, reading-first Markdown viewer for Windows. Edit when you need to.

What's new

• Wide tables are centered. A table wider than the text width used to stick to the left edge of the preview. It is now centered.
• Task lists wrap naturally. When a task list item contained a link or other inline content, the checkbox and the text could break onto separate lines. They now stay together.

Why it matters

Design documents and AI-generated plans are full of comparison tables and to-do lists.
This release makes both read the way you expect, so long documents look as tidy as short ones.
