Image Optimizer — The Big Comeback

Four years later, Image Optimizer is back. This is more than a fresh coat of paint: the app now has a completely redesigned interface, a smoother optimization workflow, and a modernized foundation.

Compression You Can Actually See

hero

The new workspace keeps the entire process in view: original and optimized sizes, total savings, processing time, and the status of every file.

The interactive before-and-after comparison makes checking the result just as easy—select an image and drag the slider to inspect every detail.

Everything You Need, Right Where You Need It

Optimization controls now live alongside your files. Adjust JPEG and PNG quality, choose the output format, strip metadata, and control where the results are saved without leaving the workspace.

You can now:

  • Keep the original format or convert JPEG and PNG images to WebP
  • Strip image metadata
  • Choose a custom output folder name
  • Add a .min suffix or replace the original files
  • Drop individual images or entire folders for batch processing

Updates Without the Treasure Hunt

Image Optimizer can now notify you when a new version is available, show the download progress, and install the update after restarting the app.

Fresh Under the Hood, Too

Electron, Vue, TypeScript, and the build toolchain have all been brought up to date. We also strengthened communication between the interface and the operating system and rebuilt the release pipeline for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

In short: it’s still the fast, private Image Optimizer you know—just much nicer to use, easier to understand, and more reliable.
