Hop 2.3.2
- System monitor: memory and graphics load light the problem badge in the menu bar. Memory counts when swap passes its red threshold or macOS reports critical pressure; graphics load has its own thresholds, the "gpu %" row in the monitor settings. On a Mac without a graphics sensor of its own, the graphics row shows the temperature of the chip it shares with the processor.
- Keep-awake and running with the lid closed come back after an update relaunches Hop.
Hop 2.3.1
- With two displays, the panel stays at the menu bar when its content is taller than the screen, and the rest scrolls inside. The expanded clipboard list measures its height against the same screen.
Hop 2.3.0
- Removing apps: Hop finds apps that were not removed completely - by the records
their installers left - and clears what remains, several at once. Leftovers carry
the program's name and open onto their files, so some can be kept. While the disk
is read, a line says why macOS may ask about other apps' data. - macOS 27: clicking in the panel no longer makes the windows under it flicker,
tooltips show while another app is in front, and file pickers open above the panel. - Clipboard: a right click on an entry offers copy, paste into the window below and
save as a file, which asks where. - Torrents: a single file of a torrent can be removed, keeping or trashing what was
downloaded; the removal choices say what they delete; a right click on a row opens
a menu. - "Network access" is now "traffic blocking", with a filter switch in its window:
switched off, everything goes through and the rules wait. Off reads grey in the panel. - Cmd-Q with a Hop window open closes the window and keeps Hop in the menu bar.
- Clearer names in the settings (window layout, internet speed), a hint on every
module, the window-zone hotkeys on the module's own page, a 10-minute timer preset,
and a paused timer points at reset when a template is clicked. - A running clock in the menu bar costs less: the icon is redrawn only when it changes.
Hop 2.2.1
- The "network access" module no longer shows a pop-up when its filter restarts, for example after an update. The module row in the panel still shows it.
Hop 2.2.0
- New module "network access": every program that goes online shows up with the
addresses it reached, and a program or a single address of it can be blocked with
one click. Rules can be set before a program connects, loaded from a file of
addresses or a hosts file, and saved to one. It works through the network filter
macOS provides, asked for once in System Settings; if the filter stops, the
internet keeps working. The module is on by default and blocks nothing until you
make a rule. - Hop is adapted to macOS 27.
- Text recognition: the first reading after an update is instant, and a setting
decides whether a reading opens its window or only copies the text. - The speed test can be stopped early; it keeps what it measured.
- Switching back to a space with a long clipboard history is faster.
- The About page links to Hop on Instagram and X.
Hop 2.1.8
2.1.8 - 2026-09-28
- On macOS 27, the panel fits the selected tab instead of leaving empty space below it.
- The main panel closes when you click outside it while another app has keyboard focus.
- Pasting a clipboard item into another app waits until that app is active.
Hop 2.1.7
2.1.7 - 2026-09-28
- On macOS 27, panel actions respond to the first click even while another app
has keyboard focus. This includes switching spaces and opening task rows. - The macOS 27 build has been checked against the recent panel dismissal,
project-name focus and low-battery alert fixes.
Hop 2.1.6
2.1.6 - 2026-09-27
- The panel stays open when switching Hop tabs.
- Typing a project name keeps the caret in the field.
- A low battery lights the menu bar alert only when the new "count low battery" switch is on.
- Share Hop from the menu bar icon's menu, the About page or the last onboarding step.
Hop 2.1.5
- The clipboard keeps a long copy whole. A book, a log or a page of source used
to come back as its first twenty thousand characters; now it comes back as
what was copied, up to 64 MB an entry. - Hop no longer holds a processor core when a menu bar manager such as Ice is
running. The icon was being redrawn without pause. Starting Hop now also ends
any older copy of it still running, so an update installed by hand leaves
nothing behind. - The speed test measures the download and the upload one after the other, the
way speedtest.net and every other consumer test does. Measured together, as
the system tool does by default, the upload of a normal home line comes out
about three times low. Its help page says so. - To-dos: hold command and click the ✕ to delete a task without being asked
twice. Command and return adds the task and closes the field. - To-dos: a task ticked off leaves the list the next day, into a file beside it.
There is a switch on the to-do settings page.
Hop 2.1.4
- An empty settings window no longer opens on its own.
