What's New in Flow Studio v2.0
A complete visual refresh plus a batch of new features — Flow Studio now looks and feels like a native, modern panel, and it's safer and smarter to use.
🆕 New Features
- Undo — a new Undo button (and
Ctrl+Z) restores your keyframes to how they were before the last Flow Studio action. Apply, paste, reverse, mirror, and reset are all undoable. - Safer applying — clicking a preset now selects it; press Apply Preset to send it to Resolve. No more accidental applies from a stray click. Prefer the old one-click speed? Turn on the Auto-apply toggle.
- Live easing previews — hover any preset card and a dot runs across it using that exact curve, so you can feel the easing before applying it.
- Copy & paste
cubic-bezier()values — the Curve Editor now shows the current curve as a CSScubic-bezier(...)string. Copy it to share, or paste one from the web / After Effects and press Enter to load it. - Test button in Settings — one click checks your Python installation, the Resolve scripting module, and the connection to Resolve, and tells you exactly what's wrong if something isn't set up.
- Works fully offline — the Inter font is now bundled with the plugin instead of loading from the web.
✨ New Design
- Apple-style dark UI — rebuilt from the ground up with layered dark surfaces, rounded cards, hairline borders, and a frosted-glass header and toolbar.
- New orange accent color — primary actions, curves, and highlights now use a warm orange (
#FF9F0A) throughout the app. - Inter font — the entire interface switched from serif to Inter for a cleaner, more legible look at panel sizes.
- New Flow Studio logo — now displayed in the header.
🎛 UI Improvements
- Segmented control tabs — Presets / Curve Editor / Settings now switch via an iOS-style segmented control.
- Smarter preset cards — curve icons tint orange on hover and stay highlighted when selected, so your active preset is obvious at a glance.
- Redesigned Curve Editor — the bezier curve and drag handles are now orange with white rims, and the linear reference is a subtle dashed guide.
- Pill-style buttons — Sync Node and Quick Animation "+ Animate" buttons use compact orange pills.
- Animated feedback — cards lift on hover, buttons respond to presses, and inputs show an orange focus ring.
🚦 Clearer Status & Feedback
- Color-coded connection dot — green when connected to the Edit/Fusion page, orange when Resolve is on another page, gray when disconnected.
- Better toasts — frosted, translucent notifications with an orange accent bar; errors are marked in red instead of white.
- No white flash on launch — the panel window background now matches the dark theme.
🛠 Reliability Fixes
- Python is now launched directly instead of through a shell, so Python paths containing spaces or special characters always work.
- Clear, specific error messages when Python can't be found, and a timeout so a stuck script can never hang the panel.
- Status polling pauses while the panel is hidden, saving CPU.
- Fixed: Quick Animations with a custom preset selected previously fell back to a linear curve — they now use the custom curve.
- Fixed:
Ctrl+Rno longer accidentally triggers the Reset shortcut. - Clip and preset names containing special characters now display safely.
📦 Packaging
WorkflowIntegration.nodeis now bundled in the release, so the plugin works out of the box.- The Inter font is bundled locally, so no internet connection is ever needed.
- Plugin version aligned to
2.0.0across the manifest and package files.
Your data is safe — existing custom presets and settings are fully compatible, and all keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Enter, Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, R) keep working.
