AOCI-CODE v0.1.0-rc22 is built from 0a0584f58aa823f8a18236dd8f181ccfbff3f184.

The rc21 soak's findings and nine contributed fixes: the S hard limit is the
Meta rune quota, a blocked Maintain names its blocker, scope acknowledge
retires an excluded Observe fingerprint, Maintain candidates carry source-bound
scale evidence, hooks fail open on configuration errors, a symlinked --repo
is its own Git root, and the base toolchain moves to Go 1.26.10. No MCP tool
name, input schema, or formal-asset format changes; two additive candidate
fields and one wider next_action vocabulary.

  • Toolchain: Go 1.26.10. govulncheck reported GO-2026-6809 (crypto/x509
trust in compromised intermediate certificates, reached through the status
page's HTTP server) against 1.26.9 from 2026-10-21 on; the nightly Full
gate was red on the released tree until the base toolchain moved. No
    source, contract, or asset change.
  • The S hard limit is the Meta rune quota (#146). The per-C S token band is
floored by the effective rune quota, so an S within the quota the authoring
contract states is never entry_field_budget_exceeded; a CJK Entry at C7
was being refused at 80 of its declared 200 characters. The S maximum
reported in Maintain and optimization candidates is the floored value. R
bands are unchanged. Public contract: Managed Scope and Budget v1, section 8.
  • A blocked Volumes Maintain names its blocker in next_action (#147):
    explicit_orphan_remove_or_resolve_blocker only when
    orphan_remove_candidates lists something, otherwise
    close_pending_recovery, scan_to_establish_baseline,
    activate_scope_change, acknowledge_observed_evidence,
    resolve_cognition_budget, or resolve_blocker. next_commands is
unchanged. Public contract: Cognition Volumes v1, next_commands section.
  • scope acknowledge retires an Observe fingerprint that an aligned policy
now excludes, instead of refusing the whole review set with
observed_evidence_review_required once another Observe path changes
    (#137, reported in #134).
  • Volumes Maintain and cognition_optimization Code candidates carry
advisory file_lines and expected_e, counted and hashed from one byte
stream and emitted only when the digest equals the issued source_sha256
    (#143, #142). Public contract: Cognition Volumes v1.
  • Hooks fail open on configuration errors: a truncated config or unsupported
locale no longer makes aoci hook pretool or aoci hook codex-compact
exit 3 before running, and pretool no longer migrates a legacy config
(#144). Public contract: CLI Runtime v1, hook configuration failures.
  • A --repo spelled through a symlinked component (/tmp on macOS) is the
same Git root as its resolved spelling (#145).
  • The optional model client classifies a non-2xx answer before reading its
body, and a timeout while reading a body is a timeout, not a network
    failure (#139, #138).
  • aoci ui --also <relative> --stop and a second --detach find the page
registered under the absolute root (#140).
  • The index parser strips every leading UTF-8 BOM, not one: a doubled BOM
left RawText starting with the second, so a Document re-parsed from its
own RawText changed (found by make fuzz-smoke; the input is a seed).
  • Managed manifests no longer build an unused standalone Safe Inventory
(#133, refs #127); one Windows-only test assertion decodes the Guide JSON
    before searching it (#141).
