Use case/motivation

Enterprise ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA involve complex, multi-stage data migration and integration processes during implementation and upgrades.

In large-scale environments, these migrations require structured orchestration of tasks such as:

• Transformation and enrichment

Apache Airflow is well-suited for orchestrating these workflows, but there is limited documentation or standardized patterns specifically tailored for enterprise ERP migration scenarios.

This proposal aims to introduce practical workflow patterns that demonstrate how Airflow can be used to manage ERP data migration pipelines in multi-region and high-volume environments.

These patterns can help organizations reduce migration risk, improve data accuracy, and standardize orchestration approaches across complex ERP implementations.
