Not sure if there is a way to avoid double-work and inconsistencies, but I think dotted expression parser fixes I pushed to plexus-utils [1] should be prted to maven-shared-utils.

Fixed in r1631643. I think the best way to avoid this duplication is to stop using p-u. This code is not one of the critical ones that leak from core, and we should be able to port any code without concerns of compatibility breaks
