Skydive 0.1.0

This mod is a 1:1 port of the skydiving, grappling hook and parachute mechanics from the 2010 classic Just Cause 2 into Skyrim SE. The mod download contains no Just Cause 2 files, you must have Just Cause 2 installed on your system in order to install this mod.

Installation

Requirements: SKSE64, Address Library for SKSE Plugins, Just Cause 2 (any version: Steam, GOG etc. note that Just Cause 2 can often be bought at -90% off during sales). Tested on Skyrim 1.7.104.

Install the mod like any other mod (Mod Organizer 2, Vortex or by hand).

Run the asset installer once. It's inside the mod:
Skydive Installer\Skydive-Installer.exe

• Vortex: Mods page > right-click Skydive > Open in File Manager > open Skydive Installer > double-click Skydive-Installer.exe. When it says Done, click Deploy Mods.
• Mod Organizer 2: right-click the Skydive mod in the left pane > Open in Explorer > open Skydive Installer > double-click Skydive-Installer.exe. When it says Done, press F5 in MO2.
• By hand: open Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Skydive Installer and double-click Skydive-Installer.exe.

A small window opens and finds Just Cause 2 and Skyrim by itself. If each line says OK it's found them succesfully. If one is red, click "Browse" and pick the Just Cause 2 folder (the one containing archives_win32) or the Skyrim folder (the one containing SkyrimSE.exe). Leave "Install the files into" as it is. Click Install and wait.

Controls

• G to grapple
• Jump in the air opens the parachute
• Fall from high up to skydive
• Move keys steer
• When grappling on a wall, jump pushes off and sneak lets go
• F10 opens the mod options menu.

Mod options

Press F10 in game to open the options menu. From there you can turn the grappling hook or the parachute off separately, if you for example just want the new skydiving mechanics to do trick jumps into water etc. There are various other settings to try, such as immersive stamina, explained below. Settings are saved to Skydive.ini, where you can also change the grapple key.

Immersive stamina

There's an optional stamina mode that makes the mod less overpowered. With it on, shooting the grappling hook costs stamina, and hanging on walls or ceilings slowly drains it until you fall. You can also make steering the parachute cost stamina, and if stamina runs out steering becomes much slower. All the costs can be adjusted in the menu.
