DessMetal 0.1.1 for macOS

DessMetal is a free guitar amp simulator built from my own rig captures on top of the open-source Neural Amp Modeler engine. The experiment at its heart is a conditioned neural-network Gain control: one continuous knob learned from multiple hardware Gain settings instead of a bank of fixed snapshots.

Download and install

Download DessMetal-v0.1.1-mac.dmg, open it, and run DessMetal-v0.1.1-mac.pkg. The installer adds:

  • /Applications/DessMetal.app
  • /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/DessMetal.component
  • /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/DessMetal.vst3

The DMG is signed with Developer ID, notarized by Apple, and carries a stapled ticket. Use the DMG as the distribution download.

Included

  • Four amp voicings: DessTortion Blue, DessTortion Red, DessBlock Green, and SickDess
  • Four drive captures: OD808, SD1, TS9, and aesahaettr
  • Sixteen cabinet IRs
  • Gate, three-band EQ, meters, input/output controls, and independent Drive/AMP/EQ/CAB bypass
  • Universal standalone app, AUv2 for Logic Pro, and VST3 for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs

  • The corrected installer was exercised on macOS while another same-ID build copy existed; it placed the app in /Applications with no PackageKit relocation. Installed APP/AU/VST3 bundles matched the signed payload, and the standalone app launched with its native UI.
  • The product code was also exercised in Logic Pro 11.2.2 with AU discovery/instantiation, finite non-silent playback, bypass interaction, and save/reopen state persistence. Automated checks do not judge tone or playing feel.

This release is macOS-only. Windows project files exist, but no Windows build has been produced or validated.

The earlier relocatable installer candidate is withdrawn and has been replaced; its hashes are not valid for this release.
