Summary
When running Appsmith in a closed environment with access only to cs.appsmith.com or when running an air-gapped version (no internet access), any access to resources hosted on external domains is an issue if there isn't a graceful fallback or an option to not access that external resource (for example, Google fonts falling back to a locally hosted font).

Why should this be worked on?
If the Appsmith client tries to access external domains while running an air-gapped version, the users are facing performance issues until the request times out.
