First public release of BurnBar, the native macOS menu bar app from whoburnedmore.com.
- Live burn across Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Cline, Roo, Continue + the ccusage long tail — ticks within seconds of activity (FSEvents + incremental parsing, all on-device)
- Remaining limits: Claude 5h/weekly windows (incl. per-model) with reset countdowns + pace forecasts ("cap ~6:40 PM at this pace"), Codex windows, Cursor plan usage
- Threshold notifications (configurable), window-reset + forecast shoulder-tap alerts
- 14-day burn chart, top tools/models, biggest sessions today
- Optional whoburnedmore leaderboard rank strip + one-click sync — fully functional without an account
- Real settings window: every popover section, provider, and notification is toggleable
Install: download BurnBar.dmg, drag to Applications. Requires macOS 14+. Developer ID signed; Apple notarization pending — on first open, right-click the app → Open.
Privacy: all parsing happens on your Mac. No browser cookies, no telemetry, nothing leaves the machine unless you opt into leaderboard sync.
