v0.2.0
What's Changed
This release makes gRPC a first-class interface. The fork now serves sui.rpc.v2 to applications and SDKs, and fetches upstream state over Sui gRPC.
Added
- Native sui.rpc.v2 gRPC server (Triton) on :9000, serving LedgerService, TransactionExecutionService, StateService, and SubscriptionService, with server reflection enabled.
- galene.v1.CheatcodeService, exposing all cheatcodes over gRPC: Faucet, MintCoin, SetGas, WarpEpoch, SetClock, Impersonate, ForkObject, Snapshot, Revert, Reset, and Call; the .proto definition ships in the repository for client generation.
- Live gRPC integration test suite against the fork.
Changed
- Upstream state fetching (Oceanus) migrated from JSON-RPC to Sui gRPC, with per-endpoint transport negotiation and JSON-RPC fallback for self-hosted or older nodes.
- CLI start dashboard and Studio now display the gRPC endpoint alongside JSON-RPC.
- README and quickstart updated for the gRPC interface.
Removed
- graphql key under [fork] in galene.toml; the rpc URL now serves both transports. Remove the key from configurations carried over from v0.1.0.
Compatibility
- JSON-RPC on :9123 and WebSocket pubsub continue to be served alongside gRPC; existing tooling connects unchanged
- Official Sui SDKs and gRPC clients (e.g. grpcurl) connect at localhost:9000 without local .proto files
