YuE2Mac v0.2.0

The biggest update yet: the whole studio rebuilt around Lite / Pro modes, and
every Tier-1 idea from the ecosystem analysis shipped — queue, library,
draft→finish, score editing, sampling controls, on-device lyric writing — plus a
layout polish pass.

🎚 LITE / PRO Modes

• A toolbar switch flips the whole studio between Lite (two steps and a big
  button — perfect for a first song) and Pro (queue, sampling controls,
  score editing, library tools). Lyrics, style and results follow you between
  modes.
• The Lite/Pro switch sits on the left of the toolbar; the library,
  appearance, about and settings buttons sit on the right.

🖱 Resizable Split

• Drag the divider between the writing canvas and the controls column to
  resize both — live, in Lite and in Pro.
• Each mode remembers your width across launches. Double-click the divider to
  snap back to the default split. (Stored per mode; a fresh install uses the
  built-in defaults.)

🧹 One Appearance Picker

• Appearance (Studio / Stage / Vinyl) now lives only in the toolbar's
  paint-palette menu. The duplicate picker in the Settings panel was removed.

⏳ Queue

• Queue as many songs as you like; one renders at a time with live stage chips
  (Load → Plan → Compose → Refine → Render → Save) and a tokens/s readout.
• Queued jobs cancel instantly; a running one stops at the next step and is
  honestly labelled Stopped — never Failed.

🌹 Draft → Finish

• Quick preview renders a fast 8-step draft (≈4× faster).
• Finish at full quality re-renders the same take — the draft's saved
  song tokens and seed are reused, only the refinement improves (32 steps).
  No re-composing, no surprises.

📚 Song Library

• Every song lands in its own timestamped folder (Output/<date> <title>/)
  with its WAV, ABC score, saved song project and a song.json settings
  sidecar.
• Search, replay, export M4A (native afconvert), take a new variation
  (same request, new seed), or delete. Old loose .wav files are still listed.

🎼 ABC Score Studio (Pro)

• The score YuE2 plans is saved next to every song and now fully editable:
  validate your edits (notes/bars/voices), warnings on big structural changes,
  re-render with the same seed — or a fresh one.
• Vocal → Ins rewrite: move every vocal note to the instrumental voice —
  the official, most robust instrumental recipe (vs. the old prompt injection).

🎚 Advanced Sampling (Pro)

• Temperature, top-p, top-k and repetition penalty — mirroring the engine's
  generation config, with one-click reset and a "custom" badge.

✍️ Write with AI — On-Device Lyrics

• On Macs with Apple Intelligence (macOS 26+), a Write with AI button
  drafts a full lyric sheet on-device via Apple's FoundationModels.
• No model is downloaded for this and no network is used — it is the macOS
  system model, not the song engine (which downloads once from Hugging Face).
• Each section (verse/chorus/bridge/outro) is generated with its own guide, so
  the small on-device model keeps sections distinct. Hidden automatically on
  unsupported Macs.

🎛 Style Catalog & Help

• ~40 curated, categorized style starters — chips in Lite, full browser in
  Pro, plus "Surprise me".
• Every control has a ❓ help icon (tooltip on hover, explainer card on click).

🐞 Fixes

• Pro-mode crash on mode toggle / launch (SwiftUI Slider precondition when
  the step exceeded the range span).
• Sidebar cards collapsing into an overlapping mess inside the Pro scroll view
  (CardContainer had no intrinsic size).
• Metadata-writing warning in the finish path.

✅ Verified

• End-to-end engine test (draft + finish reusing the exact same composition,
  durations match <50 ms), M4A export, ABC score sanity — all green.
• Full app-path test: 2 sample songs queued and generated through the app's
  real GenerationEngine code (lyric + instrumental, draft + full quality).
• User-verified generation with peak Python memory ≈11.4 GB — same footprint
  as v0.1.x, released cleanly by the child process after each song.
• Debug & Release builds clean.

📣 Housekeeping

• Listed in awesome-YuE — the
  curated directory of the YuE / YuE2 ecosystem.
• README (EN + 中文) fully rewritten for v0.2.0; the ecosystem analysis is now
  the forward roadmap (Tier-1 marked shipped).

⚙️ Notes

• Requirements unchanged (macOS 14+, Apple Silicon). Lyrics AI is optional and
  needs macOS 26 with Apple Intelligence.

A fresh look for YuE2Mac — new logo and app icon, plus clearer credits.

🎨 New Logo & App Icon

• New logo by GUMO — a sleepy studio dumpling with
  headphones, now on the app icon, Dock, and README.
• The app icon has been fully regenerated from the new artwork in every size (16px → 1024px, crisp on
  Retina displays).
• The previous logo is preserved as img/logo-legacy.jpg.

ℹ️ About Section

• The in-app About panel now credits Developed by arinltte · arinltte00@gmail.com.
• The README license section now credits the logo artist and developer.

YuE2Mac brings the open YuE2 music-generation model (ported to Apple MLX) to your Apple Silicon Mac. Type lyrics, describe a style, and get a full 48 kHz stereo song — generated entirely on your Mac.
