stack v0.1.0 🚀

Welcome to the very first release of stack!

stack is a lightweight, natively built macOS menu bar utility designed to instantly merge your codebase folders and files into a single, beautifully formatted Markdown document. It is the perfect companion tool for developers looking to feed source code context into LLMs like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.

✨ Highlights & Features

  • Native Drag & Drop: Drag files from Finder, hover over the menu bar icon to reveal the app, and drop them in. It's fluid and friction-free.
  • Smart Recursive Scanning: Drop a root folder, and stack will recursively scan all sub-folders, maintaining relative file paths (e.g., src/components/View.swift) as headers in your Markdown file.
  • Syntax Highlighting: Automatically detects over 60+ programming languages to wrap your code in the correct Markdown fences.
  • Fast Binary Skipping: Safely and automatically skips compiled binaries, images, and executables, ensuring your final .md file is pure text.
  • Review & Refine: Review a dynamic list of your pending files before merging. Remove specific files you don't want included.
  • Hidden File Support: Skips hidden directories and files (like .git or .DS_Store) by default, with an option to toggle them back on for files like .env or .gitignore.
  • Ambient UI Themes: Beautiful frosted-glass UI with four customizable ambient themes (Default, Rare Jade, Deep Ocean, Floral).
