What's New in v1.1.0

  • Direct Studio Auto-Keyframing: The tool now automatically turns your markers into physical keyframes directly on your Insta360 Studio timeline.
  • Smart Interpolation: If you add manual keyframes to fix your framing, the script mathematically calculates the exact pan, tilt, and FOV for the injected markers so your camera movements don't break.
  • Dynamic Tracking: The script now dynamically reads your startup.ini to track down your project files, meaning it works flawlessly no matter which hard drive you save your Insta360 projects on.

Installation Instructions

Step 1: Download and Extract

  • Download the Insv_Marker_Extractor_v1.1.0.zip file from the Assets section below.
  • Crucial: You must extract (unzip) the folder to your computer before running anything. Do not run the setup directly from inside the .zip preview window.

Step 2: Run the Setup

  • Open the extracted folder and double-click Setup.bat.
  • Note: Windows SmartScreen or Defender may flag the script because it is an unsigned file. Click "More info" -> "Run anyway".
  • The script will securely download the required metadata parser (insvtools), configure the background files, and place a shortcut on your Desktop. You can safely delete the downloaded .zip and setup folder once this is done.

How to Use

Do not double-click the desktop shortcut. The tool operates entirely via drag-and-drop.

[METHOD 1: SIMPLE TIMESTAMP EXTRACTION]
Simply drag and drop your .insv/.lrv files (or a folder) directly onto the new Desktop shortcut. The console will instantly print the marker timestamps.

[METHOD 2: COMPLETE STUDIO AUTO-KEYFRAMING]

  1. Open your footage in Insta360 Studio, frame your shots if you want (optionally add manual keyframes to set your preferred camera angles), then close the app (close all of its windows).
  2. Drag and drop those same video files onto the Desktop shortcut.
  3. The script will dynamically inject the markers as keyframes, matching your angles.
  4. Re-open Insta360 Studio. Double-click your footage in the "Local Media" tab, and your markers will be fully editable keyframes on the timeline.
