AutoHarness for Codex 1.3.1
This release fixes all P1 items from the upstream issue comparison and rebuilds every installer with the corrected plugin.
- Preserve inner frontmatter quotes and reject duplicate, multiline or ambiguous metadata.
- Allow inert
exec()/eval()documentation and directly negated warnings while rejecting executable calls and misleading warnings. - Fail CI for empty, insufficient, failing or entirely skipped test suites.
- Decode JSON before privacy filtering; remove PEM bodies across string fields, records and capture windows, including escaped markers and clipped JSON.
- Add common-issuer/Luhn payment-card filtering with negative timestamp and identifier fixtures.
- Keep
docs/local and ignored; remove installer build instructions from README.
Download the Windows x64 Setup.exe, macOS arm64 DMG for Apple Silicon, or macOS x86_64 DMG for Intel. Installed users do not need Python. Portable ZIPs and SHA256 manifests are also attached.
Validation: all nine CI jobs passed on commit f48cd10314c59918b33e5c74442e1d94cc98be53. CI collected 77 tests on Windows, Ubuntu and native macOS. Both macOS architectures exercised bundled hooks/MCP, detached workers, real Codex registration, repair and unregister while preserving knowledge. The exact Windows release installer additionally passed silent installation, repair and uninstall with a real Codex CLI in an isolated profile without Python on PATH.
Native GUI dialogs were not driven interactively. Windows remains unsigned; macOS uses ad-hoc signatures without Developer ID/notarization. Card filtering is a heuristic, not universal detection or a guarantee against every identifier collision. Existing learned rules are not silently rewritten by upgrading the plugin.
Hook trust stays under your control. Check the SHA256 manifest and the attached verification.json for artifact and validation details.
AutoHarness for Codex 1.3.0 – macOS without system Python
macOS now installs AutoHarness with its own bundled Python runtime. No Homebrew, separate system Python, installation terminal commands or administrator permissions are needed.
Choose AutoHarness-1.3.0-macOS-arm64.dmg for Apple Silicon, or AutoHarness-1.3.0-macOS-x86_64.dmg for Intel. Open the DMG, launch Install AutoHarness.app, and confirm. Codex must already be installed and signed in. Review/trust the five hooks through /hooks in Codex CLI.
The native dialog installer locates Codex or asks for its executable, registers the plugin, and can open the local plugin page. Program releases are retained under the user's Library/Application Support. Uninstall AutoHarness.app removes only owned registration; knowledge and program releases remain recoverable. Move the program folder to Trash after unregistering if desired. Close/reopen Codex when updating; automatic macOS desktop restart is not included.
Both packages use pinned architecture-specific Astral CPython 3.13.16 builds and include runtime licenses. Apps are ad-hoc signed and verified, without Developer ID signing or notarization. macOS may require its standard Open Anyway flow. The installer does not disable Gatekeeper or remove quarantine flags. Bundles require macOS 14+; native verification runs on macOS 15.
Validation includes native Apple Silicon/Intel test suites, app/DMG build and signature verification, actual checksum-pinned Codex CLI 0.162.1 registration, five hooks, twelve MCP tools, detached worker, repair and unregister with SQLite preservation, all without system Python on PATH. Native dialogs were not driven interactively in CI. Failed copying and metadata writes retain recovery/retry paths without touching knowledge.
Windows 1.3.0 setup, portable packages and SHA256 manifests are also attached. Signing remains unsigned on Windows.

AutoHarness for Codex 1.2.1 – restart after Setup
The Windows installer now finishes with two default-checked options: Restart Codex and Open the AutoHarness plugin page. Uncheck either option if needed. Actions start after clicking Finish and never run during silent, canceled, or failed installs.
Restart uses Windows Restart Manager with zero force flags, waits for the desktop process to exit, and then activates the documented local plugin link. If closure is refused or delayed, the helper asks for manual restart. Automatic restart currently supports the MSIX OpenAI.Codex desktop and the default profile only.
Hook approval remains manual through /hooks in Codex CLI. A direct hook-screen link is not documented, so Setup opens the plugin detail page and does not change trust or send a chat prompt.
Verification: 65 local tests (64 passed, one Windows symlink-privilege skip), embedded-runtime suite, native installation/MCP/hooks/uninstall, default checkbox states and layout bounds, no Finish helper after silent installation, and graceful Restart Manager shutdown of a separate native test process. The actual running desktop was not closed during verification.
Download AutoHarness-1.2.1-Windows-x64-Setup.exe. Python is included and administrator permissions are not required. The installer is unsigned; SHA256 checksums and a portable ZIP are attached.
AutoHarness for Codex 1.2.0 – Windows installer
AutoHarness now installs on Windows through a Russian/English setup wizard. Python is included inside the package; users do not need a separate Python installation or administrator permissions.
Download AutoHarness-1.2.0-Windows-x64-Setup.exe, run it, then restart Codex and review/trust the five hooks in /hooks. An installed, signed-in Codex CLI with native plugins and hooks is required.
Setup selects the Codex executable/profile, registers the plugin, supports repair/update, and adds Windows uninstall support. Knowledge remains in the existing library on update and uninstall. Registration errors return failure and retain recovery files. Canceling uninstall keeps registration.
The installer is unsigned; Windows may show an unknown publisher warning. The release includes SHA256 checksums and a portable ZIP. Bundled CPython 3.13.16 comes from python.org with a pinned runtime checksum and its license.
Local verification covered actual native installation, 1.1-to-1.2 upgrade preserving a SQLite skill hash/body, damaged-cache repair, failed-registration recovery, uninstall, Unicode/apostrophe/space paths, five hooks, twelve MCP tools and detached workers without system Python on PATH. Local suite: 59 tests, 58 passed and one Windows symlink-privilege skip.
