MD QuickLook 1.1.0
Native renderer — no more WebKit
Previews are now drawn natively with TextKit instead of a web view:
- ~30 ms from request to a ready preview for a typical README (WebKit: ~200 ms). Large files show their first screen immediately; the rest is added in the background.
- No web content or GPU helper processes, less memory.
- Light and dark mode switch instantly, code colours included.
- Finder thumbnails are now miniature pages drawn by the same renderer.
- The WebKit renderer is still available: Use the WebKit renderer in the app.
Math, natively
Formulas are typeset with SwiftMath and the Latin Modern Math font — TeX-quality fractions, integrals, matrices and aligned equations, no JavaScript.
- About 300 extra AMS/KaTeX symbols, KaTeX aliases (
\R,\argmax,\dbinom, …),\tag,\overset/\underset/\stackrel,\xrightarrowand friends, text accents. - Environments:
align,equation,alignat,array,rcases,multline, plus SwiftMath'saligned,cases,matrixfamily. - Fixed spacing:
\quad/\qquad,\sin x,a, b. - 92% of the formulas in KaTeX's function reference typeset; unsupported commands (
\underbrace,\boxed,\cancel, …) are shown as red source, like KaTeX does. See examples/math.md.
