Turns the skill from defensively excellent but generic into one that manufactures distinctiveness — or tells you, loudly, when it couldn't.

Highlights

  • New Phase 2: Differentiation Discovery — always offered, never blocking. Extracts the why, a defensible opinion, and the roads not taken from the human (the material code can't contain). Pipeline goes 5 → 6 phases.
  • Swap-the-name distinctiveness gate at verification (reported, not blocking): cover the logo, swap in a competitor's name — if it still reads fine, it failed. Includes a 0–5 Distinctiveness Score and an AI-tells blocklist.
  • references/differentiation.md — the new centerpiece: the three moves, mess-over-spec + write-ugly-first process, and grounded exemplars.
  • Voice rebuilt — the founder's actual voice is now primary; the tech-stack table is a fallback. Fixes the v0.x hedging contradiction via an epistemic-vs-rhetorical confidence split.
  • Developer interview promoted from orphaned reference into the Phase 2 spine.
  • Templates gain WHY-lead / roads-not-taken / opinion slots; README gets a "what it deliberately doesn't do" section.
  • 3 new negative examples, a positive walkthrough, +7 evaluation QA pairs.
  • Commands (both copies) offer Differentiation Discovery; legacy Python → Claude-native.

Verification

Dogfooded against unseen repos (sindresorhus/ky, charmbracelet/gum). On ky, an A/B confirmed the gate discriminates: code-only path 0/5 (AT RISK) vs. Phase-2 path 5/5 (PASS) — both passing the existing correctness gates, which is the point.
