Release list
ArtDaddy 0.21.7 (Windows, Linux and macOS)
Windows, Linux and macOS release.
- Fixes the Discord link inside the app: it pointed at an invite that had expired.
- Export results (finished, failed or blocked) are reported with your signed-in account again, so a problem with an export can be traced and fixed. A report holds technical details of the export (its result, length, size, settings and any error), never the content of your project or files, and it is never sent anonymously.
- A result that cannot be sent right away, for example while you are offline, is kept on your computer and sent once later. An export that finishes after a restart is reported as such and no longer skews the time estimates.
- Windows and Linux: includes two fixes macOS received in 0.21.6. Background recovery no longer saves changes while a failed close waits for Keep editing, Retry or Discard, and Reset Panel Layout no longer misses saved panel sizes.
- Linux AppImage supports signed in-app updates. Debian package users update manually.
- macOS builds are ad-hoc signed and not notarized. The first launch shows an "unverified" prompt; approve it in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- macOS: after an in-app update, macOS asks for your Mac login password so ArtDaddy can read your saved sign-in, because the app is not signed with an Apple Developer ID. Click Always Allow. If the screen still says ArtDaddy couldn't read your saved session, click Retry.
All three platforms were built from cd2748b. The release tag points at 27813af, which adds only a QA script fix and a test.
ArtDaddy 0.21.6 (Windows, Linux and macOS)
Windows, Linux and macOS release.
- Fixes stale video preview frames after rewinding.
- Adds supported-client compatibility checks and update recovery improvements.
- Linux: renders the preview on the main thread when worker graphics are unavailable.
- Linux AppImage supports signed in-app updates. Debian package users update manually.
- macOS: Cmd+Q and Dock > Quit now close the open project cleanly and release it.
- The macOS build also includes two shared fixes that reach Windows and Linux in a later release: background recovery no longer saves changes while a failed close waits for Keep editing, Retry or Discard, and Reset Panel Layout no longer misses saved panel sizes.
- macOS builds are ad-hoc signed and not notarized. The first launch shows an "unverified" prompt; approve it in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
The Windows installer is unchanged. Linux artifacts were built from 2804293. macOS artifacts were built from 8d15b9f.
ArtDaddy 0.21.5
Updater-only hotfix based on 0.21.4. Interrupted update downloads and temporary update-response failures now receive bounded retries. Update errors retain their underlying cause and transfer byte count and are reported through the existing diagnostics channel. Installer signature verification is unchanged. No exporter, rendering engine, tool catalog or backend behavior changes.
ArtDaddy 0.21.4
Completed Phase 5 accounting and credit-status improvements, Phase 6 native health and telemetry fixes, Phase 7 start-request reliability, shared video preparation, reference guards and actionable guidance. Backend-managed corner-watermark exemptions retain the closing end card. Remaining durability, verification and evidence limits are deferred together in Phase 8.
whisper-cli Vulkan (Windows) whisper-vulkan-v1.9.2-sdk1.4.357.0-b3
whisper.cpp v1.9.2 built with -DGGML_VULKAN=ON, Vulkan SDK 1.4.357.0. Consumed by scripts/fetch-sidecars.mjs.
ArtDaddy 0.21.3
Fix macOS export delivery being refused for hidden staging files. Prevent delayed preview lookups from hiding newly prepared recordings and other media. Verified native Mac Record, Stop and Save, Source Monitor playback, changing decoded frames, audible final export, and partial-file cleanup. Existing privacy policy and unfinished Phase 5 work are unchanged.
ArtDaddy 0.21.2
Correct native H.264 preview colours on affected Mac runtimes; keep Source Monitor synced after relink and media processing; preserve audio-only MP4 playback; improve credit reporting, media inspection, transcript reuse, multilingual captions and export reliability. Original media and export sources stay unchanged. macOS is ad-hoc signed, not notarized. Linux automatic updates cover AppImage; Debian packages update manually.
ArtDaddy 0.21.1 (superseded, not activated)
Superseded before activation by the complete preview-eligibility notification correction. Do not install this diagnostic pre-release. Desktop updater remains on the previous public version.
ArtDaddy 0.21.0
More reliable chat recovery and media inspection; automatic transcription language detection; improved Japanese and Arabic captions; upright phone-video previews; reusable media caches and background transcription recovery; safer exports and credit accounting. The app now reports transcription performance. macOS uses ad-hoc signing; native real-device QA remains a documented post-release follow-up. Linux AppImage supports signed updates; Debian packages update manually.

New
Export several files at once. The agent can export a set of clips or library items as
separate files into one folder.
Animated stills. GIF, APNG and animated WebP files animate in the preview and in the export,
frame for frame, and loop as many times as the file says.
Exports keep going if the editor view crashes. An export now runs in the app itself, so a
crash of the editor view no longer stops it; when the view comes back, the export is still there.
Linux: signing in works on systems without a keyring.
Improved
- The agent looks at long videos much faster: a look at a few frames of a long recording costs
seconds, not minutes, and long recordings are transcribed in the background. - The agent remembers what it has already seen in a project, also after you close and reopen it,
and long sessions with many pictures are no longer refused. - The "Continue?" check-in in long runs now comes after a set of steps finishes, never in the
middle of one. - A reply cut short by a crash or a project switch says so when you come back, instead of
showing as finished with no answer. - Restart & update closes your project cleanly before installing.
- The Windows installer shows the privacy policy.
Fixed
- Looking at several long sections of a long recording at once could freeze the app.
- Exports match the preview frame for frame at every cut.
- Very long timelines export.
- Music ducked under a voice keeps playing after the voice ends.
- Audio recorded at a low sample rate no longer stalls an export.
- iPhone (HEIC) photos and rotated photos show and export the right way up, and rotated videos export the right way up. Known issue: a rotated H.264 video (common from Android phones and WhatsApp) can still show sideways in the preview.
- GIF and AVIF stills export; a short animated PNG no longer stalls an export.
- A video file that cannot be played back (an MP4 or MOV with no index) is refused when you add
it, with the reason, instead of failing later. - The Stop button stays available for the whole of a reply.
- The agent no longer changes a clip's fit or blend when you only asked for something else.
- Cancelling an export that has already ended says how it ended.
- The agent's project tools no longer switch the project you are editing.
