Rebuild Option

Build scripts skip an external library when it is already installed under prebuilt for the current platform, architecture and API/target. Use --rebuild-LIBRARY to force that library to build again.

--rebuild-LIBRARY

Replace LIBRARY with the build option name, such as gnutls, fontconfig, dav1d, xvidcore or a custom library name.

Examples:

./nix-android.sh -p android-r27d --enable-gnutls --rebuild-gnutls
./scripts/start-android.sh --enable-gnutls --rebuild-gnutls

The option works with all platform entry points: nix-android.sh, nix-ios.sh, nix-macos.sh, nix-tvos.sh, nix-visionos.sh, nix-linux.sh and their matching scripts/start-<target>.sh scripts.

--rebuild-LIBRARY only affects the build skip check. It does not enable a library, download sources again or regenerate build files.

• To enable an optional library, also pass --enable-LIBRARY or use --full.
• To download source code again, use --redownload-LIBRARY.
• To regenerate Autotools files, use --reconf-LIBRARY --rebuild-LIBRARY.

Example:

./nix-android.sh -p android-r27d --enable-kvazaar --reconf-kvazaar --rebuild-kvazaar

If the rebuilt library is a dependency of another enabled library, the dependent library may also be rebuilt in the same run. For example, rebuilding libuuid can trigger enabled fontconfig and libass rebuilds.

FFmpeg and FFmpegKit are part of the main build flow and are not controlled by --rebuild-LIBRARY. Use --skip-ffmpeg or --skip-ffmpeg-kit only when you intentionally want to skip those main build steps.
