Hello friends,
I apologize for the delay of meaningful new features and the fact that I've been very slow in responding to your requests and bug reports in the last 20 hours since the initial release of this mod. A lot happened in such a short time, and for those who feel like reading more about a wild ride of recent events, please check out this pastebin.

For anyone else who just wants to read what is new in this version, in a nutshell it's:

  • Removed code that was added in v1.6.2 of DramaticShapeVoxelMod in order to comply with its License
  • v1.6.2.ST Release was removed from this repo.
  • Contributions from StadiumFX mod creator were merged in, see further below for details
  • Disabled Horde mode easter egg entirely.
  • Removed the Options setting "Sprite Shading" for now as it was not working as intended and especially not the way people thought it does, so it was only causing confusion.
  • Please hold the line for actual new features and fixes. The 1.6.2 debacle cost me a lot of time and energy.
  • Version numbers are now semantic. That means this version of the release is v1.6.3, not v1.6.3.ST, and future releases will also no longer have the .ST suffix!
  • I'm sorry about the half-finished STADIUM_ROM_GUIDE.md file. I'll get to it asap, I promise.
  • Uploaded the wrong zip at first, please redownload it if you got an error

I tested this on Windows11 and on Android 14, using version 1.71 of gen1recomp. I was told VR mode works. iOS is having issues with shadows and the UI. No confirmations or reports that I know of from other devices at the moment.

Installation

  • if you are having issues with updating to the newest version of the mod with an older version already installed, try deleting the old version before installing the new one.
  • should be plug-and-play, just download the zip file and import it via the launcher.
  • on desktop, you can select the Stadium ROM as you did before by using the file picker when you select the menu option.
  • on mobile, please unzip the mod, drop your ROM into the baseroms folder inside the mod, then re-zip the mod before you install it via the launcher.
  • make sure to disable or uninstall any other version of DramaticShapeVoxelMod (including its forks) to avoid potential conflicts.
  • if you are having any problems that aren't about installing the mod, please create an Issue. I cannot provide help or support via discord DMs.
  • if you are having a problem about compatibility with other mods, please also create an Issue, but if the issue is that the other mod is not working, first confirm that both the other mod and my mod are working independently.
  • do NOT report bugs to the gen1recomp repo while you are using ANY mods.
  • do NOT report bugs as DRAMALESS_SHAPE bugs in the Issues page of this repo unless you were able to confirm that they are still happening with only DRAMALESS_SHAPE and no other mods active and installed, and tested on a fresh, previously unmodded savefile.
  • before you report any bug at all, try restarting the game or the gen1recomp launcher.
  • if you messed with the files of the mod before the bug happened, stop messing with them, delete all your messed-with mod files, download the mod again from the Releases page, and make sure the bug can be reproduced. I won't stop you from making edits to the mod files, but it should be obvious that I cannot help you if you are essentially using your own custom fork of my mod.
