This is my first and probably final release of the Spash (sceen) addon.

I have created the extension for my own needs using Fullscreen Playnite. I find it to be the perfect addition, allowing for a smooth transition to game, hiding things like steam and other launcher windows (provided you can log in automatically, or set up some autohotkey scripts to log in).
Just download and install the pext by running it, like any other Playnite addon.

With this plugin you can:

  1. Use your Game background as a transition to your launching game.
  2. Set up a global timer for how long the splash screen will stay on screen (sometimes the game's active window takes priority, but you still don't see the initialization windows.
  3. Set up a per-platform timer (e.g. for PS2, PS3 games, where the emulator takes longer to load than a PC game) - 10 supported.
  4. Set up a per-game timer, for when a certain game loads very quickly and you don't want to "block out" the inro animations, or vice-versa, the game loads super slowly and you don't want to watch that Rockstar launcher load for 15 seconds, when you can be watching at a beautiful wallpaper.
  5. Exceptions - you can list game, which you don't want to show a splash screen.
This is very useful if you load scripts, like launching Lossless scaling, etc and the splash screen breaks something.
Personally I still use the addon but have ahk scripts to force the game window to front.

Priority for the timers is :
Per Game > Per Platform >Global
The default global one is 10 sec.

Best practice is to use 4k backgrounds and high res logos.
