Artifact

  • APK: apk/gitpull-debug.apk
  • SHA-256: 8ff4e71d10530c9aacb074ac1f9b57ddd6320dd061aa0ee1406e89c433b64e38
  • Android package: dev.gitpull.app
  • Minimum Android version: API 26

This is a debug-signed APK produced by the local Android build. It is suitable for side-loading and testing, not Play Store distribution.

Pull failures now report the GitHub HTTP status with actionable guidance instead of a bare code. A 404 names the repository and branch and, for private repositories, points to GitHub sign-in with repo access; 401 and 403 prompt to re-authenticate or grant scope. The previous usable snapshot is still preserved when a pull fails.

Browser GitHub sign-in is implemented with GitHub OAuth Device Flow and is enabled in this APK with the app's public OAuth client ID. The token fallback remains available.

This build keeps the GitHub device code visible in the app, adds a Copy code button, stores the in-progress approval session synchronously before leaving for GitHub, re-checks that same session when you return, keeps the pending code active after transient poll failures, and keeps the signed-in message visible while repositories load.

The Android connected test suite includes approved GitHub Device Flow, pending-session restore, committed pending-session restore, and transient poll-failure coverage through the real app UI.

Repository browsing now loads one GitHub page at a time and exposes Load more for the next page, so accounts with many repositories do not fetch everything at once.

Repository selection now saves owner/repo, and manual input accepts owner/repo, github.com/owner/repo, HTTPS GitHub URLs, SSH GitHub URLs, .git suffixes, and copied GitHub URLs with extra path segments.

The repository browser now treats the whole repo row as selectable, writes the selected repository into setup, and has Android UI coverage that signs in, selects a repo, saves setup, pulls the selected snapshot, and verifies the files were written.

Git control files that Android folder providers can reject, including .gitignore, are now skipped during snapshot refresh. Obsidian dot folders such as .obsidian still sync normally, and the manifest uses the same filter so later pulls do not report false local deletions.

The APK uses the selected Branch Drop launcher logo.

Final Checks

The release was checked with:

$env:GRADLE_OPTS='-Xmx1024m -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8'
.\gradlew.bat assembleDebug testDebugUnitTest lintDebug connectedDebugAndroidTest --no-daemon --max-workers=1 --stacktrace

Result: PASS.

The current APK also includes the Android safe-area fix for larger phones and tablets. Visual walkthrough screenshots were retaken on a Pixel 9 Pro XL emulator at 1344x2992.

@asajid2-cell asajid2-cell released this 21 May 05:00

gitpull 1.3.0

This release fixes pull setup failing with the repository-format error after GitHub login.

Fixed

  • Repository browser selections are saved as owner/repo before pull.
  • Manual repository input now accepts owner/repo, github.com/owner/repo, HTTPS GitHub URLs, SSH GitHub URLs, .git suffixes, and copied GitHub URLs with extra path segments such as /tree/main.
  • Pull no longer requires the field to be exactly https://github.com/owner/repo.

APK

  • Asset: gitpull-debug.apk
  • SHA-256: d48d022825423a8aeb0e16b29aac8cd774939b6fe42ef089c2ee9c0a87930c96
  • Android package: dev.gitpull.app
  • Version name: 1.3.0

Validation

  • RepoUrlParserTest: PASS, including slug, URL-without-scheme, HTTPS, SSH, .git, and copied GitHub URL path cases
  • assembleDebug testDebugUnitTest lintDebug: PASS
  • connectedDebugAndroidTest: PASS, 12 tests on Pixel 9 Pro XL emulator
  • UI regression: repo browser Use selection writes owner/vault into the repository field

This is a debug-signed sideload APK, not a Play Store build.

gitpull 1.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@asajid2-cell asajid2-cell released this 16 May 00:30

gitpull 1.2.0

This release fixes the app-side GitHub Device Flow handling after live confirmation that GitHub approval and token exchange work for the registered OAuth app.

Fixed

  • Pending GitHub sign-in sessions are saved synchronously before opening the browser.
  • Saved OAuth tokens and tokenConfigured state are committed synchronously after token exchange succeeds.
  • Transient token-poll/network failures no longer erase the pending code or force a new login.
  • The app now shows the exact approval-check state, including the GitHub error code where applicable.
  • The same pending code remains available so Check sign-in can retry instead of starting over.

Live confirmation

  • A real GitHub Device Flow code was approved by the user.
  • GitHub returned a bearer access token for this OAuth app/client.
  • That token successfully loaded GET https://api.github.com/user/repos.

APK

  • Asset: gitpull-debug.apk
  • SHA-256: 13d691c49ca48d99c90663a0976df0b80329aeb045fc90b7b346a70535602baf
  • Android package: dev.gitpull.app
  • Version name: 1.2.0

Validation

  • assembleDebug testDebugUnitTest lintDebug: PASS
  • connectedDebugAndroidTest: PASS, 12 tests on Pixel 9 Pro XL emulator
  • Regression covered: approved GitHub sign-in saves auth and loads repositories
  • Regression covered: pending sign-in survives activity recreation
  • Regression covered: committed pending sign-in survives activity recreation
  • Regression covered: transient poll failure keeps the same pending code active

This is a debug-signed sideload APK, not a Play Store build.

gitpull 1.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@asajid2-cell asajid2-cell released this 15 May 06:55

gitpull 1.1.1

This is the build to install for the GitHub login issue.

Fixed

  • After GitHub approval, the app keeps the signed-in result visible instead of making repository loading look like login did nothing.
  • The app now tests the full approved Device Flow path at the Android UI level: pending code, approval polling, saved auth state, and repository list loading.
  • Repository loading after sign-in is reported separately from sign-in, so a repository API problem does not look like auth failed.
  • OAuth token-exchange errors now keep the GitHub error code in the app-side message.

APK

  • Asset: gitpull-debug.apk
  • SHA-256: 396e6de68ef0a5043cacd8637b0f8365a2e50e1e8f370e0901f2c79018e39e65
  • Android package: dev.gitpull.app
  • Version name: 1.1.1

Validation

  • assembleDebug testDebugUnitTest lintDebug: PASS
  • connectedDebugAndroidTest: PASS, 10 tests on Pixel 9 Pro XL emulator
  • Regression covered: approvedGithubDeviceFlowSignsInAndLoadsRepositories
  • Regression covered: pendingGithubSignInSurvivesActivityRecreate
  • Live GitHub Device Flow smoke: PASS; code request succeeded, and unapproved token polling returned authorization_pending

This is a debug-signed sideload APK, not a Play Store build.

gitpull 1.1.0

@asajid2-cell asajid2-cell released this 15 May 06:30

gitpull 1.1.0

This release separates the GitHub sign-in fix from the earlier 0.1.0 build so it is obvious which APK has the corrected auth behavior.

Fixed

  • GitHub browser sign-in now keeps the same in-progress Device Flow session when you leave the app for GitHub and come back.
  • The app restores the pending GitHub code after Android Activity recreation instead of starting a new login session.
  • Continue sign-in checks/reopens the existing session.
  • Check sign-in stays available while the pending session is visible.

APK

  • Asset: gitpull-debug.apk
  • SHA-256: c59e647158a1f87bc18eab8ebdd9098f1a430e37c6b118576b2ba976e1816a8f
  • Android package: dev.gitpull.app

Validation

  • assembleDebug testDebugUnitTest lintDebug: PASS
  • connectedDebugAndroidTest: PASS, 9 tests on Pixel 9 Pro XL emulator
  • Regression covered: pendingGithubSignInSurvivesActivityRecreate
  • Live GitHub Device Flow smoke: PASS; code request succeeded, and unapproved token polling returned authorization_pending

This is still a debug-signed sideload APK, not a Play Store release build.

gitpull 0.1.0

@asajid2-cell asajid2-cell released this 14 May 18:12

gitpull 0.1.0

Fixed GitHub browser sign-in so an in-progress GitHub Device Flow session survives leaving the app and returning from GitHub. The app now keeps the same device code/session visible, lets you copy the code, keeps Check sign-in available, and avoids starting a fresh login session when you continue the existing approval.

APK

  • apk/gitpull-debug.apk
  • SHA-256: c59e647158a1f87bc18eab8ebdd9098f1a430e37c6b118576b2ba976e1816a8f

Validation

  • assembleDebug testDebugUnitTest lintDebug: PASS
  • connectedDebugAndroidTest: PASS, 9 tests on Pixel 9 Pro XL emulator
  • Live GitHub Device Flow smoke: PASS, code request succeeded and unapproved token polling returned authorization_pending

This is a debug-signed APK for sideload testing, not a Play Store build.
