Newsletter Subscriber Groups
Subscriber groups allow custom segmentation of newsletter subscribers. A single subscriber can be assigned to more than one group.
When editing their subscription settings subscribers will be able to select the public groups they wish to be a part of.
Subscriber groups are listed by type in alphabetical order. Beside each group is two icons:
- Edit Group - Click this icon to edit the group.
- Delete Group - Click this icon to delete the group.
While browsing the available subscriber groups a new group can be created by clicking Add Group.
- Name - Name of the group. For public groups this should relate to the types of newsletters you will send to the group.
- Description - Description of the group. For public groups this should describe, in some detail, the types of newsletters you will send to the group.
- Status - The status setting will determine if the group is available to subscribers for self assignment or if the group is admin only.
- Public - Subscribers will be able to select this group when subscribing and editing their subscription settings in the public calendar.
- Admin Only - Subscribers can only be assigned to the group by administrators from within the admin console. Admin Only groups will not be displayed in the public calendar and will not be available to users when editing their subscription settings.
This default group cannot be deleted from within the Helios Calendar admin console. It will contain all subscribers.
Note: Manually deleting this group from the datatable will cause unintended application performance. This group can be renamed (which is displayed within the admin console only) but it should not be deleted.
By default Helios Calendar will include an admin only “Test Subscribers” group. It is recommended that this group be used by administrators to send test mailings prior to sending newsletters to all subscribers. This is particularly important when using a new template design that has not been previewed in a variety of mail clients.
Note: This group can be deleted by administrators, but it is not recommended.
