This is a complete rewrite with a guided, step-based setup workflow.

New Features

  • Step-based workflow -- setup is now split into -Step1, -Step2, and -Step3 to walk you through the process in the correct order under the correct user accounts
  • -TaskOnly -- if UniFi OS Server is already installed, use this to create the service account and startup task only (task is registered and left enabled); you will be prompted for credentials
  • -SetPassword -- prompt for a custom password for the service account instead of auto-generating one
  • No-download one-liner -- run any step directly without downloading the script:

Improvements

  • If svc_unifi already exists, the password is no longer reset automatically -- you will be prompted for the existing password instead. Use -SetPassword to reset it.
  • -Step2 enforces that it must be run as svc_unifi, preventing accidental downloads from the wrong session
  • Script now exits with a clear error if run as SYSTEM or from a non-interactive session
  • Nested virtualization warning appears at the end of output rather than inline, so it isn't missed
  • Cleaner console output with section headers and numbered next steps throughout
