BeamMP-Dynamic-Weather-Survival v0.1
Full description
Dynamic Weather Survival turns BeamNG.drive's environment into an evolving hazard system for single-player and BeamMP. It is built around BeamNG 0.39's native weather features and uses commands instead of an in-game control app.
Weather transitions dynamically through clear conditions, overcast skies, drizzle, rain, snow, thunderstorms, hail cores, severe storms, extreme weather, and rare whiteout events. Clouds, fog, precipitation, brightness, temperature, road conditions, wind, and water levels develop together rather than changing as isolated visual effects.
In BeamMP, weather phases apply server-wide. Lightning, hail bursts, and windbursts use synchronized event data so players can experience the same storm events at the same location. Server owners can control phases, targeting, damage, hail intensity, wind, flooding, shelter checks, EMP behavior, and destructive effects entirely through chat or server-console commands.
Features
- BeamNG 0.39 native volumetric clouds, fog, rain, storms, and weather transitions
- Command-only operation with no custom UI app
- Single-player controls and GE Lua console commands
- Server-wide BeamMP survival phases and synchronized weather events
- Dynamic wind affecting vehicles and supported forest or groundcover objects
- Random gusts, windbursts, and microbursts with phase-based strength
- Progressive road wetness, reduced grip, standing-water aquaplaning, and gradual drying
- Dynamic flooding using compatible map water objects, followed by drainage in dry weather
- Rare snow and extreme whiteout phases with icy roads
- Configurable hail presets with shelter detection and body-area-specific vehicle damage
- Procedural forked lightning with colored bolts, glow, return strokes, impact effects, and positional thunder
- Configurable vehicle targeting, direct-hit radius, splash radius, EMP chance, destruction chance, and explosions
- Escalating direct-hit EMP effects, including electrical faults and temporary engine power loss
- Persistent BeamMP runtime configuration across restarts
- Dedicated administrator test commands for lightning, EMP, hail, and mod damage state
- Performance-conscious limits for road material updates, debris, particles, and repeated effects
Installation summary
For single-player, install the mod normally or run it unpacked. For BeamMP, install both the generated client resource and the DynamicWeatherSurvival server resource. Full installation, configuration, command, and testing instructions are included in README.md.
Compatibility notes
Dynamic water requires a map with compatible WaterPlane or WaterBlock objects. Physical and visual road wetness depends on compatible terrain, road, and material definitions. Forest movement depends on map objects that support BeamNG wind systems.
