SoundFlow v1.3.0
Volume Boost
- Boost any app past 100% — up to 200% — to rescue a quiet video or call.
- Boosted audio is soft-limited, so quiet parts lift without the loud parts distorting.
- The level slider snaps to 100%, where an app plays untouched at full quality.
Notes
- The master and device levels are unchanged — they are the Mac's own hardware volume, not a SoundFlow gain stage.
- An app left at exactly 100% is still never tapped, so it keeps its native, zero-added-latency path.
SoundFlow v1.2.2
UI Improvements
- Refined the layout of the Audio tab to seamlessly show the master volume slider directly beneath the tab switch.
- Improved the spring animation when sliding between Audio and Device tabs.
- Expanded the width of the segmented controls and device pickers to fill the menu bar popover for a cleaner look.
- Hides non-critical audio route alert messages from the menu bar popover to save space.
SoundFlow v1.2.1
Fixed
- Restored the master audio output slider to the Audio tab in the menu bar.
- Added smooth sliding animations when switching between the Audio and Devices tabs.
SoundFlow v1.2
Added
- You can now star your favorite output and input devices to filter them in the menu bar.
- You can now rename devices by clicking the edit icon in the Devices tab.
- Added a segmented control (Audio/Devices) in the menu bar popover to quickly switch views.
Fixed
- Fixed an issue where the app window wouldn't come to the front when clicked in Mission Control.
SoundFlow 1.1.3
- The output and input sliders now track the Mac's own volume both ways. Moving one moves the other, so the app can no longer show 19% while the Mac is at 81%. Previously nothing told SoundFlow the volume had changed, so its slider sat at whatever it last read.
- Mute is part of that: the speaker icon reflects the system mute and toggles it.
SoundFlow 1.1.2
- The playing indicator now flattens to a single line for an app you have muted or turned to zero. It used to pulse as though the app were still audible.
- Playback is picked up as it starts rather than seconds later. Apps that play through a helper process — Chrome, Arc, Spotify, Discord, Slack — were the worst affected, and the mixer could miss them entirely while the menu bar popover was open.
SoundFlow 1.1.1
1.1.1
- New app icon: five faders at different levels, one of them turned down —
the app's own accent wash and capsule shapes rather than a generic waveform.
SoundFlow 1.1.0
1.1.0
- Sidebar navigation with counted All Apps, Starred and Playing filters,
replacing the top tab pills. - Per-app custom icons: keep the real one, or generate a tile with a chosen
colour, style and letters. - Edit an app's name and icon together from the new pencil button. The
double-click-to-rename shortcut still works. - A themed background wash that follows the accent colour.
- Settings moved into the sidebar; About split into Developer and Version.
