sparkyai is an open-source assistant for asu students. it lives in discord, answers from official asu sources with links, and runs on open models on our own infrastructure. this is the first release of the v2 rebuild.

• rust agent loop that searches on its own: the stored index plus 17 live asu sources, several phrasings at once, until it has the answer
• login-gated sun devil central clubs and events through one operator asu session (myasu login with duo)
• reads files students attach (pdf, word, excel, csv, scans) and works through long results in a sandboxed container
• redis cache for live results, per-user memory in private chats, approval before any consequential action
• limits on sandboxes, browsers, turns, traces and containers so it stays within memory under load

setup is in deploy/README.md and the design is in docs/ARCHITECTURE.md. the original 2024 prototype is preserved on archive/v1.
