Summary

This release adds MCP tools for opening URLs, setting simulator location, managing apps (install, uninstall, launch, terminate, list), and approving permissions on the selected iOS device/simulator.

What's new compared to 0.1.1

New MCP tools

  • ios_open_url(url)
    Open a URL on the selected device (e.g. https://example.com).

  • ios_set_location(latitude, longitude)
    Set the simulator's GPS location. Only supported on simulators.

  • ios_install_app(app_path)
    Install an app from a .app, .ipa, or .xcarchive path.

  • ios_uninstall_app(bundle_id)
    Uninstall an app by bundle identifier.

  • ios_launch_app(bundle_id, args?)
    Launch an app by bundle id with optional arguments.

  • ios_terminate_app(bundle_id)
    Terminate a running app by bundle id.

  • ios_list_installed_apps()
    List installed apps on the selected device. Returns JSON lines (one app per line).

  • ios_approve_permissions(bundle_id, services)
    Approve permissions for an app. Supported services: photos, location, camera, microphone.

Upgrade

  • From PyPI: pip install --upgrade idb-mcp
  • From source: pull the v0.1.2 tag and reinstall.
