Meta Quest experiment — original recording

Choose a tag to compare

An original-quality gameplay recording for the Meta Quest experiment section of the DroidXR project journal. This is media, not a software release or headset installer.

The recording is preserved without transcoding: 1920 × 1080 H.264 at about 60 fps, stereo 48 kHz AAC, 2:46.733, 424,772,859 bytes. The website plays it at 4× by default; the file itself retains its original speed and quality. Browser playback controls can change the speed.

The project owner reports using a modified WiVRn client and USB Ethernet with Quest Wi-Fi disabled, without DisplayPort. This is a separate streaming experiment from the direct-display PSVR 2 route. The recording alone does not prove the exact host, network topology, latency, Internet isolation or telemetry behavior. Quest still uses its own operating system and tracking stack.

This user-supplied recording is outside the repository's scoped GPL-3.0-only grant. WiVRn and other third-party software, games and marks retain their own identities and terms. No proprietary driver, game installation or runtime payload is bundled.

SHA-256 of the MP4: 4afc4901fb9cb916629177755f55b6a75353d90526e0f0aaf69426e1626893e4. The attached JSON and checksum file identify the original bytes.

Modified Mesa Turnip 2026.10.14-r1 (Linux ARM64 component)

Choose a tag to compare

This is the modified Mesa Turnip driver component, version 2026.10.14-r1. It contains the separate app/KGSL-timeout and compositor/KMS-priority Linux AArch64/glibc drivers, portable relative ICD files, a Python installer, the frozen manifest, notices and observed package pins. It is one component of the PSVR 2 phone-hosted route.

Qualified reference: NX809J, Android 16, kernel 6.12.23-android16-OP-WILD, Ubuntu 26.04 LTS ARM64. The binaries require Linux/glibc (including glibc 2.38 symbols); they are not Android/Bionic libraries. Other phones, kernels and rootfs images are unqualified.

The device owner verified all 15 installer payloads in dry-run and a new inactive-prefix installation, confirmed both installed driver hashes, and verified that a repeat install refuses to overwrite. Each scoped vulkaninfo --summary check exited 0 and discovered Adreno 840 / Mesa Turnip 26.2.0-devel / Vulkan 1.4.353. With DISPLAY and XDG_RUNTIME_DIR unset, surface information was skipped. These checks did not acquire a display lease, start OpenXR or Monado, or test headset presentation, tracking or a game.

From the extracted bundle, inside the qualified Linux container with permission to create your chosen new prefix:

python3 install.py --prefix /opt/droidxr/releases/mesa-2026.10.14-r1 --dry-run
python3 install.py --prefix /opt/droidxr/releases/mesa-2026.10.14-r1 --install

Verify SHA256SUMS.txt first and retain NOTICE-MESA.txt and licenses/. Select the app or compositor ICD explicitly per process through the configured launcher. Installation does not switch the global driver, create a lease or activate the headset. The compositor path still needs the existing lease FD and its documented display configuration. System-library dependencies are listed and are not bundled.

The frozen ZIP still contains its pre-qualification pending-test wording. The attached mesa-target-check-2026.10.14-r1.json records the subsequent bounded target results. The ZIP remains byte-for-byte frozen: 7,100,677 bytes, SHA-256 8451fa8bac50a57bc3a635f36833ba4f6a997f0d75490359cf60ae4feb9cb046.

This is not a complete headset installer. Monado, the production DSC module, the Android app, broker and tracking bridge have separate preparation and redistribution requirements. No proprietary Sony, Valve or game payloads are included. Retained outputs identify the exact binaries; a clean independent rebuild remains unverified. GitHub's automatic source-code archive contains the project repository, not a clean Mesa source build corresponding to these two binaries.
