Version 2.6.0

This theme release updates source packages from the Unity Design system and adds three missing brand colors to the included color palette.

  • UPDATE: Release includes the new version of footer rankings image.
  • ADD: Add pattern for image and text block to the pattern library.
  • ADD: Add pattern for inset content box to pattern library.
  • ADD: Add pattern for inset card on image to pattern library.
  • FIX: Breadcrumb block no longer hidden in mobile view. Resolves DACW-136 from the ASU digital accessibility project.
  • FIX: Unset or missing menus within /nav-menus.php should no longer produce PHP warnings.
  • REMOVE: Remove native core/accordions block from block picker. The acf/accordions block pattern found within Pitchfork Blocks is our preferred block solution and is compliant with brand and data layer standards.

UDS secondary colors

  • ADD: Add ASU Copper (#Af674B), ASU Turquiose (#4AB7C4) and ASU Pink (#E74973) to theme.json general color palette.
  • ADD: Enable border control for core/media-text, core/columns, core/column and core/group blocks.

Query loop buttons

Previously, users were unable to add a button to a pattern of cards produced within a standard query loop. This was because the href of the button was unable to be set to the link of the looped post. The following two additions to the theme address this shortcoming.

  • ADD: Register pitchfork/current-permalink as bindable data source attribute.
  • ADD: Add button with bound URL attribute to Card layout: 3 Across with Query Loop pattern.

Advanced Custom Fields support

  • FIX: Remove unique ID as an available custom field definition within ACF.
    • This field is no longer utilized by any blocks supplied in the Pitchfork system of block plugins.
    • Removal of this field definition also addresses a possible PHP fatal error that can arise when the theme is activated before the ACF Pro plugin is activated or available.
  • FIX: Address PHP 8.2 deprecation warnings in custom ACF menu selector field defintion. Warnings triggered when acf/sidebar was added to a page.
  • FIX: Address "translation too early" notices caused by change within ACF options page registration best practices.
