Explain v0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@asunchu asunchu released this 18 Oct 14:44

Explain v0.2.0 adds clearer writing defaults and local diagram rendering with Pele.

Changes

  • Share one writing contract across Codex, Claude Code, and OpenCode.
  • Prefer local evidence and relevant primary sources when research is needed.
  • Render editable Mermaid source with pinned Pele 1.6.0 through a bounded worker.
  • Deliver a compact Home HQ example with explicit colors, readable fonts, and a PNG preview.
  • Check fonts before replacing exports, and document phone-width and remote-client checks.
  • Update the 2:17 Explain film and add paired evaluation tooling.

Verification and limits

The paired evaluation report records 90 trials across three harnesses.
Sampled results improve, but failures remain. These trials do not establish universal compatibility.
The dated security review covers Pele 1.6.0 and this local integration.
It finds no confirmed critical or high vulnerability in the tested runtime path. It does not guarantee future versions or public-service safety.

Package validation, renderer tests, font-failure tests, and dependency audits pass.
Desktop and phone-width browser checks confirm readable labels and working links.
The clean Linux run verified public installation for three harnesses and checked a rendered video sample.
These installation checks do not run AI agents or test fresh speech synthesis.
No independent listening audition was performed for the film.

Release checks pass: Validate and clean Linux installation/render.

Explain v0.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@asunchu asunchu released this 03 Oct 21:02

First public release of Explain: a portable skill that chooses prose, diagrams, interactive HTML, or narrated video according to the learning goal and requested format.

  • Install in Codex, Claude Code, or OpenCode using the README command.
  • Explore the standalone software-factory walkthrough, including repairs and human decisions.
  • Watch the complete 2:11 film with captions and local AI narration.
  • Reuse editable source, storyboard, transcript, and scene audio under MIT; dependencies keep their own licenses.

Live examples: https://asunchu.github.io/explain/

Validation: skill structure and references, artifact links, audio/caption timing, full video decode, and browser interaction checks. The examples were produced in Codex; cross-harness behavioral evaluation remains community testing work. No independent listening audition was performed.

The small explain-skill.zip contains only the skill and license. Repository source archives include both examples.
