  • quill transcribe <file>: on-device transcription via WhisperKit, markdown
    to stdout or to --output <path>, progress on stderr, non-zero exit on
    failure.
  • --model <variant> selection. Models are downloaded from Hugging Face on
    first use and cached under Application Support; QUILL_CACHE_DIR relocates
    the whole cache, tokenizer included.
  • A documented CLI contract (docs/cli-contract.md) covering invocation,
    streams, markdown format, and exit codes, for scripted callers.
  • make install / make uninstall to put a release binary on PATH.
  • Model-choice guidance in the README for terminology-sensitive sources.
  • Offline transcription once a model is cached: a cached model loads with no
    network connection, and a run that needs a download but cannot reach
    huggingface.co says so.
  • A source build with no binary downloads and no credential prompts. Lint runs
    in CI and through make lint.

Source-only release: build with make install (macOS 13 or later; building needs a Swift 6.2 toolchain). No prebuilt binary is attached.
