v0.2.1 Sage Symphony
A New Look
- XMPlayer now uses Figtree as the main font.
- Figtree makes text easier and cleaner to read on smaller screens, also giving the app a friendlier personality.
- Text spacing is slightly wider, improving accessibility.
- New Background Option: Ribbon
- Inspired by PS3's XMB menu background. This reimagination renders ribbons as colorful irregular flames.
- New Default Wallpaper: Sage Vista
- A new HD 16:9 wallpaper honors this release's name. Felt like this app could use some more Frutiger Aero (Eco), so here you go!
- Simpler Elegant Design for Volume/Brightness Displays
Video
- New controls for mpv by @vanbagaria
| MENU + Up/Down | Seek +-15min |
| MENU + Left/Right | Seek Video Chapters |
| MENU + A | Take Screenshot |
- mpv's subtitle position and scale can now be adjusted from Video Settings. Suggested by @vanbagaria
- New options to loop video folders and/or watchlists for mpv are now available in Video Settings.
- For clamshells running muOS, closing the lid now pauses the video on mpv.
- Fix Play All / Shuffle Play not working on folders and watchlists with very large number of videos.
Music
- Fix music files with ID3v2.3 or Vorbis metadata may not be processed properly.
Experimental PortMaster Builds
- Starting from v0.2.0 Symphony, PortMaster will be a build target for XMPlayer, providing support for muOS and now Knulli, Rocknix, EmuELEC, dArkOS, etc.
- .muxapp releases will still be available. .muxapp (muOS app) is the recommended installation option for muOS users.
- Note that some features are still WIP in the PortMaster builds because of CFW-specific configurations. You can check the current compatibility information here.
- Feel free to visit the testing threads on Discord and muOS Community Forum for updates!
Built-in Video Player Test Build
This is an unstable test build of XMPlayer with a built-in video player that uses just ffmpeg for video/audio decoding and nothing else. Performance is terrible, but at least should work with devices that don't come with any video player core by default. Use with caution!
