Release list
Atech Atelier 0.1.1 (preview)
Atech Atelier 0.1.1 (preview): credits and licence compliance release. Same app as 0.1.0; this release corrects how we credit FreeCAD and the projects we build on, ships every required licence text, and publishes the full corresponding source next to the download.
Download and run (Linux x86_64)
chmod +x AtechAtelier-0.1.1-x86_64.AppImage
./AtechAtelier-0.1.1-x86_64.AppImageVerify: sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing. You also need Claude Code installed and logged in for the chat (not bundled).
Built on FreeCAD
Atech Atelier is built on FreeCAD 1.1.3. FreeCAD: (C) 2001-2026 FreeCAD contributors, licensed under the terms of the LGPL2+ license. Atech Atelier is not endorsed by or affiliated with the FreeCAD project or the FreeCAD Project Association. Full credits: CREDITS.md and Help → Credits & Open-Source Licences.
What changed since 0.1.0
- FreeCAD's licence is now stated as FreeCAD states it ("LGPL2+"), with FreeCAD's own copyright banner verbatim; 0.1.0's notices wrongly said "LGPL-2.1-or-later" for FreeCAD.
- "Built on FreeCAD" instead of "is FreeCAD"; precise statement of what Atech changes (launcher, icon, desktop entries; FreeCAD's program files are unmodified); FPA trademark notice.
- Licence texts now shipped: AppImage runtime (MIT), libfuse (LGPL-2.1), squashfuse, musl, FreeType (FTL), Coin3D, SoQt, PCL, Xerces-C, zstd, LGPL-3.0, GPL-3.0.
- AppImage runtime pinned (type2-runtime 8f39b89).
Source code
Attached to this release: freecad_source_1.1.3.tar.gz (FreeCAD's own source archive), copyleft-sources-part1.tar and part2.tar (upstream source + conda-forge recipe and patches for all 70 copyleft components bundled), the AppImage runtime's sources (type2-runtime, libfuse, squashfuse), SOURCES.md (what is where, with sha256 of every file) and SHA256SUMS-source. Atech's own source: the "Source code" archives below and this repository.
Licences
Atech's code: LGPL-2.1-or-later. Atech module models: CC BY-NC 4.0. FreeCAD and bundled libraries: their own licences (CREDITS.md).
Atech Atelier 0.1.0 (preview)
Correction (2026-10-04): please use 0.1.1. This 0.1.0 binary's notices (About box, NOTICE, CREDITS.md) label FreeCAD as "LGPL-2.1-or-later"; FreeCAD itself states its licence as "LGPL2+" (GNU LGPL version 2 or any later version), and its copyright banner reads "(C) 2001-2026 FreeCAD contributors". 0.1.0 also lacks several licence texts and does not carry its corresponding source. 0.1.1 corrects the credits, ships every required licence text, and publishes the full corresponding source with the release.
Atech Atelier 0.1.0 — first public preview. Describe a part in the chat and an agent builds it as a real, measured solid in FreeCAD. Powered by FreeCAD 1.1.3.
Download and run (Linux x86_64)
chmod +x AtechAtelier-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage
./AtechAtelier-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImageVerify the download: sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing
You also need Claude Code
The chat's agent is Claude Code, installed and logged in on your machine (it is not bundled). Without it Atelier works as plain FreeCAD and tells you how to install it. What the agent receives from your document is described in the README's privacy section.
What's in this preview
- Chat → CAD: the agent writes a parametric model, checks and measures it in a sandbox, and the live preview appears in seconds.
- Atech modules: seat Atech modules on the 14-port board and build enclosures around them.
- Each document keeps its own chat; edits continue the existing design.
Known issues
- The window title shows FreeCAD's version (1.1.3) rather than 0.1.0.
- Dark mode: the link colour in the Credits window is hard to read.
- The AppImage is not signed yet.
Licences
Code: LGPL-2.1-or-later (LICENSE). Atech module models: CC BY-NC 4.0 (LICENSE-models.md). FreeCAD and its libraries: their own licences (see CREDITS.md). Not endorsed by or affiliated with the FreeCAD project.
